Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.
Earth Hour 2011 will take place on March 26, 2011 from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, at participants' respective local time.Let's switch off the lights at 8.30pm for Earth Hour and commit to actions that go beyond the hour. With Earth Hour almost upon us, our thoughts are also with the people of Japan during this incredibly challenging and sad time for their country.

Our Cermai Plant
Our greenwave plant, the Cermai (also known as Malay gooseberry)was blooming and fruiting at the same time. We could see the reddish flowers together with the yellowish fruits on the stem.
It is a common village tree, with fruits cooked as a sour flavouring or acar. Its root is medicinal but poisonous. It is boiled and steam inhaled for cough, weak infusion drunk for asthma.
CCA Day
The boyscouts joined in the gardening during our CCA day. Together with our members, we learnt the gardening skills and how to work together as a team. We also helped to do maintenance work at our new fish pond next to our Community Garden.
